SHORE WALLS
The Eastern Shore's First Mural Festival
May 26–30 · Downtown Salisbury, MD
Shore Walls brought together artists, businesses, residents, students, and visitors for five days of public art, community engagement, and creative placemaking throughout Downtown Salisbury.
Produced by We Are Limitless Studios, the inaugural festival transformed walls into landmarks and public spaces into gathering places. What began as a vision to bring large-scale public art to the Eastern Shore became a week-long celebration of creativity, connection, and community impact.
Over the course of five days, seven large-scale murals were completed by local, regional, and nationally recognized artists, creating a permanent public art trail that will continue to inspire residents and visitors for years to come.

WHAT IS SHORE WALLS?
Shore Walls was created with a simple belief: public art has the power to transform places and bring people together.
Murals do more than beautify walls. They create landmarks, tell local stories, spark conversations, encourage exploration, and foster pride within a community. When paired with meaningful programming and community participation, public art becomes a powerful placemaking tool that strengthens the identity of a city while supporting local businesses, tourism, and cultural development.
By bringing artists and community members together through a shared creative experience, Shore Walls demonstrated how art can activate public spaces and create lasting impact far beyond the finished mural itself.

COMMUNITY IMPACT
At its core, Shore Walls was never just about murals.
Throughout the week, community members were invited to paint alongside professional artists, participate in educational experiences, attend public events, and engage directly with the creative process.
Students toured the murals, asked questions, and learned how artists transform ideas into large-scale public works. Families participated in community painting opportunities. Residents and visitors attended artist talks, explored Downtown Salisbury, and experienced firsthand how art can bring people together.
For many young people, it was their first opportunity to meet working artists from across the country and learn about creative careers directly from the people pursuing them.
The murals may be permanent, but the relationships formed around them are what make Shore Walls truly meaningful.
LOOKING AHEAD
The success of Shore Walls 2026 demonstrated the growing demand for meaningful public art experiences throughout the Eastern Shore.
As the festival continues to evolve, the long-term vision remains the same: to create a connected network of public art destinations that celebrate the culture, history, creativity, and communities that make the Eastern Shore unique.
Future expansion opportunities are being explored throughout the region, with the goal of building a broader mural trail that encourages exploration, strengthens communities, and supports cultural tourism.
The first chapter has been written.
We look forward to painting the next one together.
Shore Walls would not have been possible without the support of the businesses, organizations, and community leaders who believed in the vision of creating a stronger, more vibrant Eastern Shore
through public art.
